Media Manager International HIV/AIDS Alliance

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance supports communities to meet the challenges of AIDS and build healthier communities. Our vision is a world in which people do not die of AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.

We are seeking a Media Manager to be responsible for the development and implementation of the Alliance’s media and social media strategy. S/he will work with a broad range of media and external audiences to raise the profile of the Alliance’s programme and policy work with its key external stakeholders.

S/he is also responsible for the Key Correspondent Programme, a vibrant network of more than 250 citizen journalists based in 50 countries, and the line management of the Programme Support Officer: Key Correspondent Programme.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Developing and implementing a media strategy for the Alliance.
Developing and coordinating the implementation of a social media strategy for the Alliance.
Managing the Key Correspondent Programme and line managing the Programme Support Officer: Key Correspondent Programme.
Writing, editing and developing content for a wide range of media and communications outlets (including Alliance websites).
Defining and monitoring the media budget.

The post will be based in the Communications Team, part of the Department of External Relations. The Media Manager is required to work in close collaboration with a broad range of Alliance Secretariat teams (including Policy, Best Practice, Resource Mobilisation and Field Programmes) as well as with senior staff in Alliance regional and country partner organisations.
