Milieu Ltd is a dynamic consulting firm based in Brussels striving for excellence in international and European policy and law – primarily with respect to environmental protection but also in such fields as fundamental rights, public health, consumer protection and health and safety. We provide our expertise mainly for European institutions and other public sector clients.

Milieu is seeking to recruit additional senior policy advisors to compliment our team and maintain our continued growth. They will be expected to become involved in the process of developing all aspects of our business and participate proactively as part of the management team.

Key tasks will include the following:

• Research and development of analytical reports on European policy topics according to area of expertise and interest;
• Leadership of diverse project teams;
• Managing projects to budget while ensuring that deadline and quality objectives are met;
• Support for business development, including development and drafting of proposals;
• Liaison and meeting with clients to review and report project progress;
• Contribute towards the strategic vision of the business.

Key qualifications for the position

• Masters degree or higher in environmental protection/policy, economics, social sciences or other relevant discipline;
• Background and experience in European public policy analysis; in-depth knowledge of environmental policies including climate change and/or chemicals is desirable;
• Minimum 5-7 years prior work experience; more is considered an advantage;
• An independent, self-starter personality;
• Willingness and enthusiasm to work on a wide range of issues;
• Strong organisational ability; experience with the management of junior staff;
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of other EU languages strongly desirable.
