1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) update for this project that appeared in UNDB and African Development Bank Group's Internet Website in October 2010.
2. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat has received financing from the African Development Fund toward the cost of the Support to the Control of Communicable Diseases (CD) Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Supply & Installation of Laboratory & ICT Equipment for Zimbabwe Laboratories (ZINQAP & NMRL)
Lot 1: Supply & Installation of Laboratory Equipment for NMRL & ZINQAP
Lot 2: Supply & Installation of Laboratory Equipment for NMRL
Lot 3: Supply & Installation of Generators & Fire Fighting equipment for NMRL & ZINQAP
Lot 4: Supply & Installation of ICT Equipment for NMRL & ZINQAP
Lot 5: Supply & Installation of Medical Refrigerators for NMRL & ZINQAP
Lot 6: Supply & Installation of Laboratory Equipment for ZINQAP Delivery period: 8-12 weeks
Bidders may bid for one or more Lots. Bidding for Partial or incomplete Lot will not be considered.
3. The SADC CD Project now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Supply & Installation of Laboratory & ICT Equipment for Zimbabwe Laboratories (ZINQAP & NMRL)

PLEASE NOTE: Bidding documents are available at no fee and can be downloaded from the SADC Website tender section: www.sadc.int. A pre-bid meeting will be held and details are in the bidding document.
5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Documents: Procurement of Goods (May 2010 edition)
6. Bids clearly marked "Supply & Installation of Laboratory & ICT Equipment Zimbabwe Laboratories (ZINQAP & NMRL)" must be delivered to: Procurement Expert, SADC Secretariat - Communicable Disease Project, Plot 116 Kgale Mews, 1st Floor office 125, Gaborone, Botswana on or before 10.00hrs Botswana Time on 27th APRIL 2012 and must be accompanied by a Bid Security as follows:
Lot 1: USD 2,500,
Lot 2: USD 1,500,
Lot 3: USD 1,500,
Lot 4: USD 1,000,
Lot 5: USD 1,000,
Lot 6: USD 2,500.
In order qualify for one or more lots the bid security of the bidder must be at least the aggregate of required bid security for the lots.
7. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at 10.15 hrs Botswana Time on 27th APRIL 2012 in the 3rd Floor Conference Room, Plot 116 Kgale Mews, Gaborone, Botswana. LATE BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
