Assistant Professor, Agro-Climatology

Kansas State University seeks an individual with expertise in agricultural climatology to serve as Co-director of its Weather Data Library (WDL) program. The candidate will be responsible for helping provide leadership and direction to the WDL program, as well as developing a nationally recognized program in agro-climatology, and stimulating use of the WDL as a research and outreach tool by other scientists extension faculty, state agencies, industry, and stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for developing an applied research and extension program aimed at reducing climate and weather risks in agriculture and natural resource management in Kansas and the Great Plains region. The candidate must be able to work in a multi-cultural setting and create an environment that fosters collegiality, diversity, and teamwork. Required: Ph.D. in one of the major disciplines related to agricultural and environmental sciences or a closely related field is required with training in weather/climate effects on agricultural systems; and demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills in English. This is a 12-month, tenure-eligible faculty position, 70% Research, 30% Extension/Outreach appointment.
