European Senior Legal Counsel IFPI European Regional Office

The IFPI European Regional Office is currently seeking a European Senior Legal Counsel.

The IFPI European Office in Brussels is the international recording industry's representation to the European Union. It interacts directly with the European Institutions and coordinates the industry's representation throughout Europe.

The Senior Counsel will assist the Director of the IFPI European Office by handling legal issues affecting the music industry in fields such as copyright, licensing, piracy and enforcement, e-commerce, data protection. This will include providing legal and strategic advice to the record companies and IFPI national groups, representing the industry with EU institutions and governments, liaising and negotiating with other stakeholders.

Profile of applicant:

• qualified lawyer with at least 5 years relevant experience;
• preferably English native speaker with at least one additional European language;
• in-depth knowledge of EU and international copyright;
• attention to detail;
• precise drafting skills, thorough knowledge of the EU environment and EU institutions;
• good communication skills.
