Head of organisational development

With the development of a new corporate strategy, Christian Aid is now moving into a very exciting period of change where it will strive to have even greater impact on eradicating poverty and social injustice through the implementation of Partnership for Change. This will demand a significant change in the way we organise and approach our work. Scaling up our efforts to have greater impact challenges us to increase the efficiency of how we manage and use our resources right across the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the organisation during eight months to review the way it works, better aligning our resources behind the new strategy and strengthening the organisation’s ability to manage change effectively. This role is key to drive excellence through everything we do, to lead changes in our culture, processes and systems, and to devise smarter ways of working that release real benefits. Of course, the real impact of those changes will be the positive one they have on people’s lives around the world.

As someone with a proven track record in leading and delivering large-scale organisational development interventions, you will have plenty of experience in coordinating and implementing solutions that drive business change and improve performance. You’ll bring the level of project management and change management skills needed to ensure the on-going complex projects are successfully implemented within agreed deadlines and quality standards. You will be proficient in managing a team of highly committed individuals, supporting them and driving their performance.

Working closely with the rest of your colleagues in the Organisational Development and Strategy department, your will contribute to our Change Management and Organisational Effectiveness agenda. Your expertise and professional tools around project management, business analysis, systems and change management will help us strengthen this area. This will be combined with strong experience and expertise around leadership development, performance management and people development. Essentially, you’ll have the kind of experience it takes to quickly establish your credibility and be the kind of person who can carry your influence across all areas of our organisation. And, most importantly, you’ll be passionate about fighting poverty and injustice.
