Manager, Demand Planning Japan

Position Overview:

Manage the demand planning process of Beverage Base KIT (combination of Beverage Base and Raw Materials) for entire portfolios in some specific bottlers.

Build demand data by taking consideration of Finished Goods sales status in market and Finished Goods production plan & inventory plan from the Bottlers as collaborating with Japan Business Unit’s various functions, Bottler Supply Chain and Cola-Cola affiliate company. It will become input data of KIT supply planning, and also it will become base of critical Japan Business Unit’s financial rolling estimates.

Manage the demand plan of KIT for new product/sunset product in some categories and also manage risk of shortage/excess in inventory.

Function Specific Activities:

• Build the demand plan for all existing product, and lead demand & inventory planning meeting with supply chain teams of Bottlers to align their Beverage Base purchase plan & timing. Summarize them into Japan Business Unit aggregate Beverage Base demand volume
• Build the demand plan for new product and make consensus with Japan Business Unit’s internal member, Bottler Supply Chain Management and Cola-Cola affiliate company, and manage to minimize shortage/excess risk.
• Build the financial rolling estimates by Bottler area, and execute PSI (Production, Sales, Inventory plan) meeting with Bottler Supply Chain Management
• Set Key Performance Indicators (performance matrix) with bottlers and review their results periodically to improve KIT forecast accuracy.
• Look for the Best Practice in demand planning area and share them with Bottler Supply Chain Management.


Language Requirements:

Native level of Japanese and basic business level of English


Experience, Skils and Qualifications Required:

• 3 year+ experience of demand planning process
• Strong business mind-set including ability to understand financial implications of demand alternatives
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and ability to interact with people in various levels of the organization

- Drive operational effectiveness. Sustain current organizational performance level while leading the organization to rapidly implement future enhancements to drive operational excellence
• Create an environment of agreeing on performance targets, tracking performance and correcting directions as required
• IT proficiency in statistical information analysis and forecasts. Desirable experience with SAP Planning (Demand Planning, Supply Network Planning, Material Requirements Planning) or other forecasting tool
• Robust operational experience in Supply Chain activities particularly in the areas of demand forecasting, inventory management, distributions, warehouse, customer service, etc.


Minimum Required Education:

University degree - at least 4 year university professional degree
