Principal Engineer, SW Testing

Presently, Nokia Mobile Devices has an immediate opening for a Principal Engineer with expertise in Quality and Testing. You will be accountable for planning, executing and analyzing the results of testing on mobile application projects. You will also be collaborating closely with the Applications Test Manager for these Quality functions.
If you have a keen sense of detail; a willingness to demand the best quality for the final deliverable; and are able to utilize test and quality resources where the uppermost results can be achieved, then this just might be the adventure you are looking for!
Accountabilities:
• Responsible for quality for one or more mobile applications, covering all needed test areas
• Performs different testing methodologies to verify mobile application quality for meeting product requirements and creating the optimum user experience
• Conducts both automated and manual testing of applications, as required
• Plans and executes testing following agile principles (such as SCRUM)
• Completes test asset creation, test execution, error reporting, analysis and reporting on testing outcomes

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • M.S. or B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience in SW testing with minimum 5 years of work experience in Quality
  • Prior Testing or Quality Assurance role in a mobile/embedded environment
  • Experience with Test Tools

Strongly Preferred:

  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C++ or C#
  • Former experience with automated test frameworks and conducting testing using them
  • ISTQB and/or CSTP Testing Certificates
  • Test planning and test assets creation for mobile applications, functional and non-functional testing (power management, memory management, reliability)
  • Strong understanding of agile testing & methodology
  • Superior communication skills; excelling at working both independently and on a team
