Reader: Salary scale starts at £79,695, including market supplement (pay award pending)

Professor: To be determined by the Director (salary scale starts at £90,941 including market supplement (pay award pending)

Applications are invited for a Professor or Reader level in the Department of Accounting. The post can commence as early as 1st September 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Department’s research extends across a variety of accounting areas. Achieving balance in the diversity of its scholarship at the senior level is a key objective.

Applications are sought from outstanding candidates with a strong track record of teaching and who have acknowledged global standing in their field with influential publications in international journals.

You will be expected to uphold the tradition of intellectual diversity in the Department and provide research leadership to a variety of faculty and doctoral students as well as engage in teaching and other departmental administrative responsibilities.

The Department wishes to recruit an individual for this post who has expertise primarily in quantitative empirical financial accounting research. You will preferably be in the capital markets financial accounting area. Applications from individuals using analytical modelling approaches to accounting research, ideally in combination with empirical work, also will be considered. We particularly welcome candidates who have links to the accounting profession and/or who are professionally qualified.
