Senior Environmental/Geochemist

Energy Resources of Australia is a publicly listed company that has mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory since 1980. The open cut Ranger mine is on Aboriginal land, and is surrounded by, but separate from, the spectacular Kakadu National Park.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Environmental Chemist to join ERA. Reporting to the Manager Earth & Water Sciences, and based in Darwin you will be a key technical contributor to the environmental strategy of ERA. With a range of technical challenges, this role will provide opportunities for strong career growth within a registered research and development business group.
You will take responsibility for leading investigations and modelling potential chemical contaminants for surface water, soil and sediment. You will lead and contribute to key project work as well as acting in the team as a subject-matter expert in environmental chemistry. Using your technical knowledge you also be responsible for the provision of strategic advice for environmental risk mitigation, prevention, and rehabilitation strategy.
You will be degree qualified in Environmental chemistry. Experience as an environmental chemist in a heavy industry or mining environment will be highly regarded.
