The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, is seeking a dynamic and highly qualified individual to provide UNICEF management with internal audit and investigation services that cover all aspects of the organization’s operational and programmatic work.

As a member of the Global Management Team, the Director appraises management of audit and investigation findings and recommends improvements to increase the effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes in UNICEF’s operations.

He/she plans, directs and reviews the activities of the Office of Internal Audit and Investigations and establishes objectives, priorities and procedures for the work of the Office, which consists of assurance, advisory and investigation services.

We are seeking a leader with extensive team management experience, a high sense of integrity, excellent communication skills and a commitment to UNICEF’s mission. Fluency in English is required and a working knowledge of at least one other UN Official language would be an asset.

Qualifications: Strong academic and professional credentials including a university degree in business or public administration, accounting, economics or other relevant field combined with appropriate professional qualifications(CPA, CA, CIA etc.), and preferably an advanced university degree.

Experience: At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience and demonstrated technical competence in audit work, a significant part of it in an international environment. Experience in managing investigations is desirable.
