Web Designer (Knowledge Management Support), New York

Purpose

UNICEF currently require an experienced web designer to assist with the delivery of SharePoint based Knowledge Management solutions.This position will be based at UNICEF’s New York Headquarters. You will report to a section manager and work within a team dedicated to this new initiative within UNICEF.

Qualifications and Competenceis

• 3 + years web design experience in a corporate or large non-profit setting.

• Ability to support applications developers with regard to the provision of web HTML coding, CSS
coding, JavaScript Coding and the creation of web graphics using Adobe Creative Suite.

• Ability to provide page templates to model the look and feel of new systems on the SharePoint platform.

• Respond to other web and design related tasks, as requested by the KMS unit manager or section chief.

• Exposure to SharePoint a plus, including master pages and SharePoint Designer

• Ability to be self-starter and to work with minimum supervision

• Experience in a multi-cultural and gender sensitive work environment.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with a team as well as independently in a multi-cultural environment.

Hours of Work: The selected candidate is expected to work 7 hours/day.

Duration of the Consultancy: This contract will be for 6 months subject to satisfactory probationary period and is renewable subject to adequate funding being available.
