Product Development Manager for Child Rights Toolkit

Purpose

UNICEF is seeking a Consultant who will manage the production and delivery of two key products over the next four months: a Child Rights Toolkit for self-learning, and a Facilitator’s Guide for training on child rights.

The Product Development Manager for the child rights toolkit and facilitator’s guide will have strong expertise and experience in managing the delivery of high quality communications products on international development issues for lay audiences. S/he will be coming into a project that has been on-going for several years and has collected most of the content for the toolkit in the form of technical papers of various lengths and quality. Supplemental content may or may not have to be tapped, and the content for the facilitator’s guide needs to be developed and collated. The task for the Product Development Manager (PDM) will be to map and execute project processes, responsibilities, and accountabilities to ensure that the work done so far translates into the two required products in a high quality format and within a four month period.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Manager of high quality, polished communications product delivery in the international development arena.
• Demonstrated success in defining and delivering/launching excellent products with short time frames.
• Demonstrated success in developing task teams that have the skills in alignment with product requirements.
• Excellent skills in managing teams to deliver their best, and in assuring the quality of communication products.
• Strong skills in mapping, defining, and communicating project processes, responsibilities, requirements, and timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
