Job Summary

Cultural Affairs Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

Must be able to plan, allocate resources and work independently on assigned tasks and Public Affairs programs while coordinating with other members of the Public Affairs team. Ability to maintain extensive contacts with local organizations and carry out the coordination required for bi-national exchange programs required. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of American and Afghan program participants is required. Must be a self-starter who displays strong initiative, follow-through, resourcefulness and organizational ability. Should be able to solve problems independently and provide recommendations for process improvements. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required. 

Qualification

Specific knowledge of key players and institutions in Afghanistan, particularly those relating to education and cultural affairs is required. Must have in-depth understanding of Afghan society, government, history, and culture. Should have a good understanding of public diplomacy strategies.

Language(s) required

: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/Reading English and Dari; Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading Pashto is required.
