The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent will primarily be responsible for assisting in the co-ordination of the Upstream Projects budget, business plan and forecast processes in line with the requirements for the Group. The incumbent will also be required to undertake other activities such as reporting, budgeting and analysing forecast variances.
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Co-ordination and preparation of quarterly forecast in accordance with Regional and Group requirements
• Co-ordination and preparation of Annual Business Plan and Budgets for the Region. This includes driving the process, co-ordination with key stakeholders within the region and the wider business
• Preparation of presentation slides for information sharing purposes to deliver key messages to key stakeholders
• Liaise with key members of the Economics team to understand and model implications of new projects and assumptions in the planning cycles
• Provide peer review for financial models
• Lead in completion of all planning cycles to ensure that they are in compliance with the companies policies and procedures and represents the most likely outcome of the expected business
• Prepare commentaries and analysis of information
• Support the business and planning and reporting team to provide relevant and timely management information to the Regional Executive Committee and other key stakeholders
• Lead in the preparation of the JV Development budgets to provide to JV Team, liaising with the Project Accountants where required to manage assumptions across the Project Group
• Liaise with Commercial working groups to establish correct asset/joint venture ownership
• Lead on cash flow forecasting across the Project

People Management• The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Technical Experience• Qualified Accountant, preferable but not essential
• Experience working within specialist areas such as projects and joint ventures

Experience• Experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred
• Demonstrated budget & forecast experience
• Excel modelling skills are essential, Access preferable but not essential 
 
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes• Accounting qualifications with associated tertiary qualifications, preferable but not essential
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards desirable but not essential
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent time management
