Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA)


We are seeking dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professionals for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA).
Selected candidates will help ensure the systematic and timely collection and analysis of project activities, outputs, and outcomes as implementation progresses, contributing to the periodic assessment of overall project progress and contribute to donor reporting.
Positions will be based in the eastern Indian states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh or Odisha, and will require a significant amount of travel between project sites within each state.
The main responsibilities of this position will be:
  • Contribute Contribute to the development and deployment of a comprehensive M&E system for CSISA in alignment with the overall CIMMYT Research Management Framework.
  • Support efficient and effective project implementation through the provision of systematic and timely information on implementation progress, including preliminary and intermediate outcomes.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of the project implementation process and progress.
  • Provide insights and suggestions to the technical team as required to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual work plans.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
  • Advanced university degree in Agricultural Development, Rural Development, Project Management or related field, with particular interest in Monitoring and Evaluation of planned interventions.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience, preferably in connection to applied international development projects/programs in the region.
  • Familiarity and experience with project management concepts, particularly Logical Frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to process both quantitative as well as qualitative information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including gender sensitivity and ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams as well as to develop strong and effective working relationships with partners.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to travel and undertake fieldwork in rural conditions.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package and electronic communication tools.
