PATH's Advocacy and Public Policy (APP) department works to improve global health by increasing awareness and support of global health priorities by working with policymakers, coalitions, and other influential individuals and groups. The APP department is seeking a Multimedia Advocacy Coordinator to serve as its digital engagement focal point. The person will report to the Policy Communications Officer and will be part of a team of more than 25 staff working in five countries to promote and implement PATH’s policy and advocacy goals.  Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Prepare pitches and content for blogs and social media networks that advance policy change and/or advocacy goals.
  • Serve as the internal project manager for an expanded advocacy web presence that includes global health advocacy, maternal health, product development and child health. 
  • Work with policy experts to identify video needs and then plan for and coordinate video production activities.
  • Coordinate consulting contracts with video production, photographers, and other communications’ firms to support digital engagement needs.
  • Maintain a roster of photographers and videographers.
  • Along with other digital engagement experts across PATH, advise and inform broader strategies in advocacy and communications.
  • Work closely with PATH’s External Relations Department and other PATH staff to contribute to outreach and visibility goals at PATH. 
Required Skills
  • Excellent persuasive storytelling, project management, and partnering skills.
  • First rate web writing skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated success in securing digital media placements that impacted policies and government funding.
  • Consistent and active use of at least one social media network.
  • Basic understanding of web development and video production terminology, concepts and processes.
  • Proven success in meeting deadlines while juggling multiple demands and negotiating shifting priorities. 
  • Experience in working within a team environment.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related discipline or equivalent.  Minimum of five years of experience in contributing to in-house or agency-based communications. Experience working in communications for global health or development and in targeting advocacy audiences preferred.
