The Technology Services group is the software services and delivery group within the Information Technology organization, providing program and project management, software development, and IT vendor management for all of PATH's software initiatives. The Platforms Administrator in the Technology Services group is a vital member of this small team that supports PATH's business systems and mission-driven project teams.  This team member will be instrumental in maturing PATH’s technology platforms and practices by actively pruning the complex integrations that have grown over time, ensuring platforms are supportable, up-to-date and ready to scale. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with internal project teams, external partners and vendors throughout design, development and support of applications.
  • Plan and implement pre-production and production environment readiness.
  • Partner with the Global Infrastructure and Support team to refine and drive capabilities of global infrastructure to meet business application needs.
  • Active administration and management of all databases including deployments, backup/restores, maintenance plans, monitoring and security.
  • Development of automation approaches for system builds and deployments.
  • Actively participate in root-cause analysis of production support issues.
Required Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft platforms including the following:  Windows Server, .NET, SQL Server, and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of administration and management of all SQL products including:  SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, MDS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Visual Studio, TFS, MSBuild and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, patterns and implications including:  SalesForce.com, Azure, Amazon Cloud, Office 365.
  • Familiarity with open systems including:  Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to plan, document and manage deliverables for multiple efforts and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a cross-functional team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Required Experience
    Bachelors degree plus a minimum of 5 years' experience administering and supporting enterprise systems as an infrastructure or operations engineer. Experience with work tracking using Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Experience working for an international organization facing low-bandwidth challenges is preferred.
