Job Responsibilities
   
 The job holder will report to the Laboratory Director and will provide strategic and practical leadership of the Group‘s sales efforts. The primary focus will be to direct and grow business development activities through personal sales. The cultivation of new and existing client relationships and monitoring of competitor information in order to increase penetration of sales targets is key to the position.

To meet the demanding deliverables of the role, the main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Optimise Intertek MSG’s visibility and presence in the market place, enhancing the penetration of key potential and existing customers.
• Identify and pursue key potential business opportunities through research, networking and prospecting.
• Achieve personal targets for conversion of new business.
• Maintain complete updated status of all information relating to contacts, meetings and accounts, updating CRM databases as appropriate.
• Maintain effective ongoing communications with customers and colleagues.
• Communicate emerging or changing trends as well as any issues which may impact present/future sales.
• Lead and direct the marketing of Intertek MSG’s capabilities, throughout the UK and Europe

Travel – Domestic travel to clients, prospects and Intertek sites will account for at least 60% of the working time and intermittent international travel may be required.
 
   
Job Qualifications
   
 The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Extensive and proven sales experience, preferably within a global, multi-divisional organisation that offers technical business services. This includes the development of sales & marketing strategies and a strong track record of progressive sales achievements
• Senior key account management
• Qualified at Bachelor level, or equivalent, preferably in a technical field
• Ability to develop strong working relationships within both Intertek and client companies
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional backgrounds
