We're looking for a CMDB Librarian to join our Service Asset and Configuration Management team, which is responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of configuration data updates. This role is based in London.
 
Technology Operations is part of the Technology, Distribution and Archives division. As the broadcast technology partner for BBC programme teams, Technology Operations is responsible for keeping multi-media output available 24/365 for News, World Service and Audio & Music. Technology Operations also provides operational switching and monitoring of incoming and outgoing live and pre recorded material across a range of BBC output, business continuity, broadcast duty management and a range of operational support services.

Role

Twelve month attachment opportunity
 
Working as part of a small team, you'll play a key role in implementing and supporting a configuration management database and infrastructure discovery tool, with responsibility for establishing requirements and processes for building a configuration management database and Service Model.  Working in partnership with the Configuration Manager, you'll collect data from business partners, to capture existing or legacy systems data in addition to new applications and systems that are introduced.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you'll need proven experience of working with technology operations combined with experience of working with databases and ideally will have knowledge of remedy on demand tools. Experience creating application or business service models is required and you'll be familiar with IT Service management process and of working with project managers, architects an platform teams to implement applications.  With demonstrable planning and organising skills, you'll be able to coordinate your own and team activities and well versed in working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary, multi-site teams.  A good communicator with proven influencing and persuading skills, you'll have strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to develop strong working relationships across a range of teams and stakeholders, at all levels.  You'll also have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
