Radio & Music Multiplatform (R&MM) is the BBC Radio department responsible for the digital development of Network Radio content and brands on a range of platforms. We pioneer and deliver audience-facing services online, on Red Button, DTV, DAB and in social media spaces. Radio 2 is the most listened to station in the UK, with an award-winning blend of top name presenters and specialist music output. Radio 2 is committed to live music with major events in the musical calendar. 6 Music brings together the cutting edge music of today, the iconic and ground breaking music of the past 40 years and unlimited access to the BBC's wonderful music archive. This Content Producer, AV, role is part of a team that creates and curates multiplatform and interactive content across the spectrum of Radio 2 and 6 Music’s brands. The R2 / 6M Multiplatform team is at the heart of the station, and as such, the Content Producer will also be regularly asked to contribute to ad-hoc pan-network tasks and projects.

Role

In this role, you'll be required to deliver content on a daily basis and contribute to the development of new output. You will also have day to day accountability for Visualisation projects across the Radio 2 and 6 Music brands and implementing R&MM’s AV strategy.  You will also ensure and promote best practice for all video production in both Radio 2 and 6 Music. You'll produce high quality AV content for Radio 2 & 6 Music using the latest digital formats and platforms and collaborate with Multiplatform producers to create supporting cross-platform content.  You will work to a general or specific brief within editorial and policy guidelines and ensure that compliance processes are followed whilst maintaining relationships with internal and external content sources on a daily basis.

Requirements

You will need to have a demonstrable knowledge of, and interest in, Radio 2 & 6 Music programming and a passion for music and new media.  You will also have a clear understanding of the Radio 2 & 6 Music audience.  You'll need a good track record in AV production in a multiplatform environment, good understanding of different digital platforms and knowledge of web production and appreciation of user experience. A strong knowledge of the music industry and all associated BBC rights agreements would be helpful, as well as some knowledge of competitor’s AV output in the digital space.  Proven skills in camera operation, lighting, sound, vision mixing and floor management and some understanding and awareness of the techniques of radio production and their use in a range of output is also required.  You will also need some experience of directing a small production team.
