MEDRC Center Director

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman
Center Director

The Center was established in 1996 as part of the Middle East multilateral peace process to conduct and coordinate research and capacity building in desalination technology, reuse of waste water and water resource management.

The current Center Director is moving on after 4 very successful years and we wish to find a successor to start in September 2013.

MEDRC seeks a leader and manager with skills in diplomacy, and the ability to understand and communicate about technical material, without necessarily having a technical background.

He or she will be responsible for advocacy on behalf of the Center, through fundraising and strengthening the networks with governments, research centers, the private sector and others who can contribute to and benefit from the work of the Center. Promotion of cooperation between the core parties of the Middle East peace process and consultation with all stakeholders is an important task.

The Director may have a background in government/diplomacy, communication, development and management with exposure to technology, the private sector or academia. Middle East experience is desirable. The official language of the Center is English.

The Director reports to the Chairman of the MEDRC Executive Council and its members, currently: Oman, USA, Japan, Korea, Israel, Palestinian Authority, Jordan, Netherlands, Qatar and Spain.

The Center is based in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
