Area Manager - Hahnville, LA - Instrument & Valve Services

The Area Manager will be a strategic member of a regional management team whose primary objective is to manage, direct and have complete profit and loss responsibility for one or more Instrument and Valve Services centers in a geographical region.
Major areas of accountability include:
·         Managing the center as a self-contained true profit center business.
·         Complete P&L responsibility.
·         Managing the operation (including machining, welding, and mechanical assembly and calibration operations).
·         Responsible for direct supervision of several hourly employees.
·         Engineering, including troubleshooting and minor field changes involving both I&VS and non-I&VS equipment is required.
·         Purchasing of all material, parts and tools as well as preparation of appropriation requests for capital investments.
·         The Area Manger will also have indirect marketing responsibilities, including sales, through direct contacts with process plants in the marketing area and sales channels interface and communications with sales channels to find ways to uncover business growth opportunities.
·         Responsible for seeking out, development, presentation and implementation of new business opportunities in cooperation with sales channels.
·         Pricing of all I&VS goods and services and preparation of price quotes on larger jobs.
·         Business report preparation and reviews.
·         Quality control of all work performed and determination of safety codes and engineering standards applicable to repair work performed, including non I&VS products.
Requirements
Qualifications:
·         Three to five years experience in both management and technical positions in machining and assembly operations.
·         Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
·         Superior leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
·         Mechanical skills, as well as a sound working knowledge of machine tools, welding techniques, and valve assembly tolerances and standards.
·         Sales/marketing experience is a plus.
·         A broad knowledge of I&VS product line and its application in the process industries is preferred; a good knowledge of competitors' product is helpful.
