Engineer

Sasol North American Operations has an open position for an Engineer at the Lake Charles Chemical Complex in the Engineering Department.  We are now seeking qualified candidates for the selection process. Below are some details of the requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide site technical support in areas such as piping, valves, and fixed equipment
• Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines
• Manage and maintain site engineering standards and specifications
• Respond to plant operational events, analyze equipment condition, and provide technical support to restore and/or improve fixed equipment performance
• Provide technical support to the mechanical integrity group to assist with risk based recommendations regarding fixed equipment
• Drive site asset improvement in areas of safety, environmental, reliability, and equipment capability
• Introduce and assist in implementing best practices and new technologies at the site
• Provide technical training to maintenance, operations, and engineering on fixed equipment technologies and best practices
• Support capital projects in areas of engineering, design, and technical quality assurance

Experience/Education Requirements:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineering License preferred
• Extensive fixed equipment experience in petrochemical or refining industries, 5+ years preferred 
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, written, and verbal skills
• Knowledge of multiple types of fixed equipment such as vessels, heaters, boilers, heat exchangers, piping, and valves
• Knowledge of ASME and API codes associated with fixed equipment
• Knowledge of risk based inspection, fixed equipment design, materials of construction, and root cause investigation techniques
