The opportunity
 
We are looking for a Principal Advisor, Business Architecture – STP (Source to Pay) based Salt Lake City office, to manage the on-going operations and maintenance of the Supply Chain components of the Rio Tinto Business Solution.

What the role entails
 
This position is suited to a highly experienced, technically skilled professional who has a strong background in STP SAP components gained in a global business environment.  This position is suited to a highly experienced, technically skilled professional with solid experience gained in a global business environment.  In this role you will:
  • Collaborate with the Principal Advisor-Business Process Strategy on how to execute the IT strategy.
  • Articulate the functional structure across the enterprise in terms of business services and business information.
  • Business architecture focuses “what” the organization does in terms of business services and collaborates with business process and analysis on "how" the organization can execute its capabilities.
  • Custodian of key master data objects eg company codes, accounts, trading partners.
  • Analysing, designing, and proposing solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
  • Works on solving complex technical problems affecting the enterprise. Work in conjunction with the application and technology architects and information architects on end-state vision for enterprise architecture.
  • Actively engage with peer level in Build and Operate to:
    • maintain assurance of end-state design and processes are relevant and fit for purpose for strategic and other key initiatives
    • monitor deliverable and service quality supports the design through the project and transition to support.
  • Facilitate team engagement with industry bodies and co-ordinates access to public and partner research and new technologies.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive / collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; monitor, evaluate results, provide feedback and coaching; conduct regular performance reviews.
What you will need for this role
 
To succeed in this challenging and impactful role, you will have:
  • 10-15 years’ experience of which includes demonstrable experience of working in an IT department for a global diversified organisation with multiple stakeholders and regions
  • A degree in IT, Project Management or Engineering
  • Good process knowledge of Purchasing, Vendor Development, Operations and Supply Chain Management
  • The ability to effectively and confidently collaborate, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders
  • Strategic and organisational agility with a strong focus on driving continuous improvement
  • Heavy exposure to large and diverse organisations and their enterprise solutions e.g. SAP
Demonstrated exposure in working with a large organisation that is internationally dispersed isessential.  Previous work experience gained in heavy industry or the mining field would be advantageous but not essential.
