Field Office Church Mobilization Coordinator

The Need

In seeking justice for victims of violent oppression and transforming the structure of public justice systems, IJM partners with churches and other Christian entities who desire to bring justice, hope, and restoration to a suffering world. In this role, you will help coordinate and provide logistical support for projects and initiatives which will improve and increase IJM’s church relationships in the field, and equip the Church Mobilization Teams to effectively mentor, lead, and create in-depth partnerships with churches and Christian leaders.
This position is based at IJM headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports to the Director  of Field Office Church Mobilization (FOCM).

Responsibilities

Provide Project Management Support

  • Cultivate relationships and communicate with external partners and relevant internal departmental teams in organizing collaborative events and initiatives in the field;
  • Serve as the liaison for cross departmental initiatives to create and/or adapt strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas; and
  • Using existing program dashboards, maintain consistent and objective program performance standards of accountability.

Provide Support to Global Church Mobilization Staff

  • Coordinate with field offices on the design and implementation of effective church mobilization programs and projects;
  • Act as the liaison between the FOCM department at HQ and the church mobilization staff in the field offices;
  • Provide mentorship and consultation with the field offices on new and existing projects;
  • Support the Director of FOCM in making strategic decisions about FOCM projects and programs in the field as they relate to FOCM goals and priorities and the offices’ ability to implement projects;
  • Provide support for the evaluation of professional development needs of all Field Office Church Mobilization staff; and
  • Assist with Field Office Church Mobilization recruitments and hires, and training and orientation of new staff members on the team.

Provide Administrative Support

  • Serve as an internal point of contact for the Field Office Church Mobilization team;
  • Assist in drafting new program and funding proposals and reviews;
  • Assist in creating and implementing an annual resource and target evaluation process with a goal to ensure adequate yearly access to resources, and to prevent mission creep;
  • Assist with monthly report compilations from field offices; and
  • Maintain content on the Field Office Church Mobilization SharePoint site.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience providing administrative or program coordination support in a fast-paced, professional environment, including at least one year of successful project management experience;
  • Superior administrative capacity to manage a large number of projects and tasks simultaneously and to complete them with minimal oversight;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data and systems with a high level of detail and accuracy;
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to appropriately manage the complex nature of relationships within and outside of the organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally;
  • Prior experience liasing with remote staff preferred;
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite; and
  • Bachelor’s degree.
