Marketing Data Analyst
The Need
International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Data Analyst to join the growing justice movement, leveraging his or her experience to help IJM make sound program and marketing decisions based on data analytics. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and ensure the future of IJM by providing critical information that will help us make informed decisions and properly steward our resources. The right person for this position will be an analytical and critical thinker.
This position is based at IJM Headquarters in the Washington, DC area and reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities
Data Analytics
- Work directly with the Marketing Team to understand campaign and program objectives, identify analytical requirements and measure the effectiveness of campaigns and investments;
- Use analysis to summarize, manipulate and interpret data, in order to deliver analytical insights, actionable reports, dashboards and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership;
- Analyze internal and external data to identify trends and opportunities;
- Analyze data to better understand user behaviors and audience segmentation;
- Design and implement advanced statistical testing for specific problem-solving needs, like A/B testing;
- Develop predictive analytics capabilities; e.g. best dates and times to send out email appeals;
- Provide insights to inform decision-making and strategies for constituent acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, and monetization;
- Use benchmarks, trends and data to measure, track and improve email communication as it pertains to programs, advocacy and fundraising; and
- Create dashboard and insight reporting for IJM’s social media and digital platforms, helping to improve engagement and drive constituent acquisition.
Data Management support
- Collaborate with the data collection team on how to strengthen processes and to translate business requirements into technical data collection, coding and pull requirements; and
- Partner with Marketing to develop relationship health index of constituents and lay the foundation for one to one relationship marketing.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with quantitative focus such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Science, Operational Research, Computer Science, Engineering or related degree;
- 4+ years of experience in analytics used to optimize; multi-channel (including digital) marketing strategy and campaigns is a plus;
- Strong competence in data management, databases, data mining, analysis and modeling, such as predicting user value;
- Firm understanding of social media/digital metric gathering and analysis;
- High performance individual with demonstrated ability to manage extremely complex projects with tight deadlines;
- Ability to take complex data sets and boil down into meaningful and understandable insights and recommendations;
- Experience with data mining software packages;
- High proficiency with Excel including pivoting and analysis modules;
- Experience and interest in data visualization, reporting, and tool building in order to scale operations and increase visibility to the data/results; and
- Understanding of enterprise level web analytics tools and underlying data (e.g., Google Analytics Premium, Web Trends, etc.).
