Organizational Setting and Reporting
The internship is located in the News Services Section (English Language Unit) of the News and Media Division. The UN News Centre website is the main portal for accessing news on the Organization and the UN system as a whole. Available in all six official languages of the UN Secretariat, it features a range of services. The internship is for a minimum of two months, with the possibility of extension. The internship is unpaid and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Responsibilities
This opportunity is designed for an intern to work with experienced news professionals serving in the UN News Centre - including news-writers and editors, multimedia and video producers, and web developers.
Interns will be assigned to work with UN News Centre team members on news production - including daily news reporting, researching and creating multimedia feature stories and producing catchy news video products - for both the news portal and related social media platforms.
