Most of our work is done in the major EP hubs, which are located in the US, UK, Netherlands, Oman, Malaysia, Brunei and Nigeria, although opportunities exist in smaller units. In these hubs, fully integrated sub-surface studies are undertaken, covering the full EP business spectrum from regional, basin and greenfield evaluations to complete field development plans. Study durations range from quick opportunity screening studies or data-room visits to two year integrated studies.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying new unconventional resource plays, opportunities and exploration concepts at the play and basin scale, grounded by producing unconventional field analogs.
- Developing and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the regional geology of focus basins around the globe.
- Definition and characterisation of key plays including basic play description, prospect inventories and yet-to-find assessments.
- Generation and evaluation of specific opportunities, including interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data.
- Collaboration with regional asset teams plus the Research and Technology departments.
- Maintaining an overview of technology developments (internal and external) and deploying fit-for-purpose new technology.
- Maintaining an awareness of competitor activities and a network with key external knowledge holders. Applying this knowledge to the understanding of petroleum systems and unconventional evaluation/operations.
