IMF ,Board Operations Officers

The Secretary's Department (SEC) provides analytical, policy, and logistical support to the governing bodies of the institution, which include the Executive Board and its committees, as well as the Board of Governors, International Monetary and Finance Committee, and other related bodies. The responsibilities of the Board Operations Officers in the Operations Division are to support the work of SEC, including preparing analytical briefs for management, the Secretary, and other senior staff in advance of policy and country meetings; preparing records of these meetings; assisting in membership cases; and providing other briefings, research, and drafting as needed.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a graduate degree in economics, international finance or a related field (a Ph.D. would be an asset), and some work experience in economic analysis, with a good understanding of macroeconomics and international economic issues. They must possess excellent writing skills and the ability to analyze, summarize, and present results accurately and succinctly within tight deadlines. In assisting the Secretary of the IMF in carrying out his responsibilities, the incumbents must exercise sound judgment, tact, and discretion.
A writing test on macroeconomic subjects is a required component of the selection process. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for testing and interviews.
