BBC Learning is looking for two experienced researchers to work on the Media Literacy team in Salford. The team produces projects like Britain in a Day and Give an Hour, designed to improve the digital literacy of people across the UK. Our projects’ aims range from getting people online for the first time, to helping experienced internet users to create and upload material for broadcast.

BBC Learning plays a central part in meeting the core BBC purpose of promoting education and learning. We co-commission a substantial portfolio of programmes and produce a range of learning resources delivered online, on-air and through face-to-face activities that connect, create and magnify powerful opportunities across the entire BBC to inspire all audiences.

Role

Joining our established team, you will provide the detailed and thorough research necessary to produce successful live events, engaging web content, written guides and short films. You will be responsible for delivering significant aspects of live road-show events with large audiences -- and researching and setting up films to support our online projects. You may also be required to work in The Lab, the BBC Learning unit which equips members of the audience to make content for broadcast.

Requirements

An experienced researcher, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to persuade presenters and potential contributors to take part in our projects and campaigns. A track record of delivering projects jointly with partners from inside and outside the BBC highly desirable. The ability to operate on your own initiative and to offer strong, workable ideas on a regular basis is essential. We require people with first class communication skills – both written and verbal, excellent organisational skills, an audience focused mind-set and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

The ability to take up this position depends on successful Criminal Record Bureau check.
Closes: Friday 17 February
Interviews anticipated Tuesday 6 March
