Job Description

ChildFund International is seeking a Senior Grants Management Specialist to support ChildFund International’s overall grant acquisition and management strategy. The Specialist leads the grant management sub-team, responsible for overall project management from award to close-out. A secondary role includes liaising with technical teams to contribute to the learning agenda.

The Senior Specialist oversees the administration of ChildFund’s portfolio, including review and negotiation of cooperative agreements, sub-agreements and modifications; correspondence with donors and subs; provides overall support to sub-grantee and sub-contractor management; and ensures timely submission of deliverables, including work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, technical and financial reports.

S/he monitors overall portfolio performance against original cost allocation and contractual requirements and ensures compliance with federal contract regulations and various reporting requirements, in accordance with USG rules and ChildFund Policies.


Required Skills

  • MA equivalent experience in international relations or a related field required
  • Between 5-10 years of grant management experience, with significant experience with USG donors; contract management experience is a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of USG Rules and Regulations and risk management principles
  • Experience with and knowledge of USG donors (USAID, DOL, DOS) multilateral, foundations, and other institutions’ grant making initiatives, policies, procedures, grants management processes, and regulations
  • Proven portfolio management skills, including managing multi-million dollar projects
  • In-depth knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project, and Adobe
  • Must have the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills required; a second language such as French or Spanish preferred
  • Ability to travel to ChildFund regions to collaborate with national and regional staff to support grant management
