Design Draughtsman
Engineering Department
Performing general draughtsman duties and responsibilities such as drawing on CAD/Inventor/Visio programmes will form the basis of this role. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for creating design drawings, retrieving/issuing drawings, authorising and issuing excavation permits, as well as creating necessary design for plant modifications, maintaining the drawing filing system, inspecting all outside turnkey drawings and ensuring the implementation of management decisions, legal requirements and company standards/policies. He/she will furthermore be accountable for updating and controlling all drawings, drafting all new and small projects designs and handling the improvement and redesign of different equipment.
Requirements: Candidates must have a relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a Diploma in Technical Draughting, together with 5 years’ draughting experience in a drawing office. An Inventor qualification would be advantageous, and good communication and writing skills, as well as problem-solving abilities, are essential. Computer literacy is needed, with proficiency in MS Office, CAD, Visio and Inventor. Candidates must hold a valid Medical Certificate and a Code B driver’s licence. Our ideal person is able to work independently and under pressure with a high work standard and a drive for results.
