Resident Engineer

Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for the continuous tracking and reporting of monthly equipment performance, as well as the implementation of a formalised Asset Management Strategy, and for ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements. The scope of work also includes budget and cost control functions, risk management, and employee development and coaching, all the while ensuring quality management of work execution.
Requirements: Candidates must hold a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or National Diploma, as well as a GCC (Government Certificate of Competency). An MDP (business acumen/qualification) will be an added advantage. At least 5 years’ working experience within a Mechanised Mining environment as the responsible legally appointed (2.13.1) Engineer, is required for this role, as is computer literacy (MS Office suite) and the ability to work independently but also in a team.
Analytical, objective and factual reasoning skills, plus excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to function at group level with senior management, and the ability to manage the operation of the engineering and maintenance function at a Shaft Operation, will further benefit the applicant.
