Assmang Ltd – Manganese Division has this vacancy at their Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km north-west of Kuruman in the Northern Cape:
Minimum requirements: • BEng/BTech/BSc degree/National Diploma • Project Management Certificate • Minimum of 5-10 years in the field of Project Management, especially in a heavy industry environment • Relevant legislative knowledge, ie labour legislation and environmental legislation • Strong leadership skills • Good interpersonal skills • Computer literacy • Performance driven • Sense of emotional maturity • Ability to cope with pressure.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Focusing on clear and effective leadership, providing clear goal alignment, vision and direction for the Project Management function at the Black Rock operation • Being capable of influencing, coaching and mentoring others • Strategic planning and continuous improvement of the business environment • Project identification and management to ensure continuous improvement • Authorising and driving initiatives aimed at eliminating wasting, and improving productivity • Driving improvement projects towards enhancing the operations • Optimising the process of scheduling and design • Conducting simulation projects, forecasting, planning optimisation and support • Performing any other ad hoc duties as required by the Supervisor.
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act, 29/1996.
Preference will be given to applicants from previously disadvantaged groups to support the company’s employment equity plan.
Appointment: Remuneration will be based on a competitive, all-inclusive, flexible package.
