Chief Geologist United States-Nevada-Cortez

Responsibilities include: Overseeing all aspects of exploration and development programs within the Cortez district. Specific duties to include but not limited to:

Pipeline/Project Management

· Actively lead Cortez exploration team in safety & health, environmental, and community relations initiatives, supporting policies and procedures.

· Review and provide feedback on all technical and project proposals, ensuring consistency with Barrick strategy & adherence to Barrick’s best practices

· Establish and maintain an appropriate portfolio of projects, regularly reviewing projects in field, ensuring decision points are developed & maintained, and project deadlines & budgets are met

· Assists with creation of realistic and well-justified budget requests; track budget activities and complete monthly progress reports.

· Define clear and achievable objectives

· Successfully execute quality control procedures

· Communicate regularly with Exploration Senior Management and collaborate actively with regional business unit and site operations personnel.

People Management

· Develop technical and leadership skills in all team members, providing regular, constructive feedback and insuring that succession plans & career development plans are in place & current

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

· Proven ability to work safely required.

· Bs in Geology or related degree required.

· Minimum 10-15 years relevant exploration experience with 3-5 yuears experience in a senior role manageing geologists and exploration programs required.

· Northern Nevada gold exploration experience preferred.

· Excellent communication skills, team leadership & problem solving skills required.
