AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents and a highly successful exploration program. In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in WA and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine, also in WA, in which it has a 70% interest and is manager. Independence Group holds the remaining 30%. Tropicana, which represents the most significant Australian gold discovery for the last decade, is scheduled to begin production in the December quarter of 2013.

Located in the Laverton region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia's Sunrise Dam is one of Western Australia's premier gold mines. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces approximately 350,000 oz of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

AngloGold Ashanti are experiencing growth within our Processing Department and are seeking experienced Process Technicians to join the Processing team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Senior Production Coordinator, this role is accountable for safely operating the processing plant, and its associated facilities, at their most efficient, productive and cost effective level. The Process Technician will be an active member of the Processing Team by contributing to the development of operating practices and providing input to the optimisation of the Processing Department.

The main tasks of the role include:

• To operate the process plant at its most efficient level in accordance with specified standard operating practices. Operation will involve managing plant throughput, gold recovery and resource usage through effective communication, troubleshooting and problem solving.
• To attend and participate in the Processing Training Program and contribute to the improvement of the program by identifying training needs.
• To liaise closely with metallurgical and maintenance personnel on safety, plant performance and technical issues with the aim of optimising plant performance, increasing ease of operation and eliminating existing and potential problems.
• Carry out routine performance monitoring duties such as sampling, sample analysis, inspection, log keeping and data analysis.
• Closely monitor equipment performance to ensure the timely identification of malfunction and loss of performance. Report such conditions to maintenance and metallurgical personnel and assist in repair and troubleshooting appropriate to the level of training received
• Carry out ancillary duties including, amongst others, reagent preparation, instrument calibration and plant housekeeping.
• Keeps management informed and shares information across the Company. Provides well thought out, concise and timely oral and written information.

• Previous experience in a mineral processing plant (gold preffered)
