Research Associate in Co-operative Resilience Open University

Temporary one year contract expected to commence on 3 September 2012

Based in Milton Keynes

As a result of a successful bid to the Leverhulme Trust, an excellent research opportunity is available in Development, Policy and Practice, within the Department of Design, Development, Environment and Materials.

You will be expected to collaborate with a second research associate based at the UK Co-operative College in Manchester. You will prepare and carry out field work on case studies of co-operatives in Uganda, involving face-to-face interviews, focus groups, secondary data analysis.

You will have a completed PhD degree or equivalent qualification in an area relevant to development or co-operative studies, and have experience of working on one or more of the following areas: qualitative fieldwork in Africa; producer organisations; rural development/rural economy; value chains.

Good data analysis and writing skills for a range of audiences and uses are required.
