Position Description:

Duties & Responsibilities

Shall be the chief advisor to the General Manager on all matters relating to research and consultancy

Shall be responsible for the supervision of day-to- day activities of the Research & Development Department

Shall ensure that the Corporation operates in areas of advancing technology

Shall coordinate R&D of marketable products of the Corporation

Shall liaise with Marketing and Production departments on product diversification/improvements to meet changing market needs or technological advancements.

Shall advise the Human Resource Manager on the training and recruitment needs of the R&D department

Shall coordinate all research projects within the Corporation from product/process designs to prototype development

Shall coordinate all research activities conducted by the Corporation in collaboration with other research institutions/organizations

Shall perform any other duties as may be designated or directed from time to time by the General Manager.

Entry Requirements/Qualifications

Holder of a Master of Science degree from a recognized higher learning institution majoring in Design Engineering

Working experience of not less than eight years, three of which must be in a managerial position

Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board as professional Engineer

Must be computer literate
