Financial Reporting, Analysis and Budget team is part of the Finance Department at PATH, providing various accounting and financial supporting services.  Among its various areas of focus, the team’s responsibilities, primarily as they relate to this position, include: maintaining accounting systems coding structures to support the various reporting needs of the organization, developing accounting methodologies for subsidiaries and unique accounting situations to comply with regulatory and reporting needs, assisting with the award revenue setup, monitoring, and closeout, as well as coordinating PATH’s annual consolidated financial statement audit. Specific responsibilities of this position include:
  • Revenue monitor/review
  • Deferred support review/maintenance
  • Review AR entries and project close-out entries
  • Multi Company (affiliates) Accounting / Invoicing
  • Award (grant) document review/analysis
  • Award (grant) amendments review/analysis
  • Project codes maintenance (advanced level issues)
  • Perform accounting for PATH’s endowment
  • Monitor and record in-kind donations
  • As assigned, prepare reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and finalize them for annual audit
  • Assist with annual audit coordination; assist with tracking external audits PATH-wide
  • Coordinate various systems improvement projects
  • As requested, prepare  surveys and statutory filings
  • Act as backup for other FRAB functions as needed during peak periods
Required Skills
  • Gathering and analyzing information in a proficient and creative manner
  • Good understanding of accounting/financial software (Dynamics SL experience a plus)
  • Literate in personal computers and related software, high proficiency in the use of MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment effectively in decision-making processes and planning
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships and effectively address complex and sensitive administrative issues throughout the spectrum of constituents
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other directly related field, plus five years' accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting experience using computerized accounting systems, knowledge of and ability to develop sophisticated applications using Excel and other standard computer-based tools, and process management experience. Demonstrated functional understanding and ability to develop sophisticated applications using Access. Non-profit or fund accounting experience, and Dynamics SL general ledger systems experience preferred. Cross-cultural experience preferred.
