Position Description:

MMM is currently seeking two Designer EITs to join our Energy Group, located at our Thornhill office.  Working under the supervision of a more senior designer or engineer, you will perform design work of limited scope and complexity requiring application of prescribed engineering methods for various energy projects, with a focus on distribution design. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Determines design criteria for minor structures, systems and equipment items and prepares specifications for same in accordance with manuals 
• Analyses minor engineering problems and prepares sketches for drafting personnel 
• Prepares simple plans and designs, calculations and bills of material 
• Prepares standard input data for computerized solutions to engineering problems 
• Uses established codes, standards, drawings and other specifications 
• Records observations, performs calculations and prepares reports on assignments 
• Gives occasional guidance to more junior employees assigned to a common task

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree from accredited University in related program, or diploma in respective engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Power, Industrial or Civil) 
• Combined with 1 or 2 years (internship or co-op) experience, preferable within the energy or utilities sector 
• Eligible to qualify as EIT through PEO; 
• Ability and experience to manage multiple initiatives, projects or business transactions to achieve business targets 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
