The Council of Europe brings together 47 nations across the continent, with a shared aim of advancing democratic principles for the protection of individuals. You will have a pivotal part to play in our mission, as you take responsibility for programme and fi nancial issues across the Council and supervise the operation of our Linguistic services.

Enjoying a high degree of responsibility and impact, you will contribute to the setting of programme priorities, assess their financial implications and act as our Treasurer. At the same time, you will be a trusted adviser to the Rapporteur Groups of the Committee of Ministers and liaise with external auditors.

Educated to university degree level, you will possess an extensive track record (at least 12 years) in policy development and programme, budgetary or fi nancial management, backed by real fl air for conceptual thinking at a strategic level. Getting the most from teams will naturally be second nature to you, as will networking and negotiating at political and diplomatic level. Finally, you should be fl uent in either English or French, and have good knowledge of the other language.
