Purpose of the position
Strategically, Fairfood International uses its advocacy interventions to encourage sustainable solutions through transparency, innovation and change in policies and practices from Food & Beverage companies. The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand works closely with the Senior Manager Asia, Middle East, Europe & North Africa (AMEENA) and the other team members to implement Fairfood International’s global advocacy strategy with regards to the sustainability of the shrimp supply chains originating in Thailand.
Strategically, Fairfood International uses its advocacy interventions to encourage sustainable solutions through transparency, innovation and change in policies and practices from Food & Beverage companies. The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand works closely with the Senior Manager Asia, Middle East, Europe & North Africa (AMEENA) and the other team members to implement Fairfood International’s global advocacy strategy with regards to the sustainability of the shrimp supply chains originating in Thailand.
Department
The Advocacy department is Fairfood’s programs unit. The department is composed of multidisciplinary teams working on Fairfood’s advocacy interventions focused on various regions (and countries) of the world (also referred to as “Hotspots”). These multidisciplinary teams are based locally and internationally, and are supervised by Senior Managers Advocacy with regional portfolios. The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand is a member of the Thailand/Shrimp hotspot and reports to the Senior Manager Advocacy AMEENA.

Responsibilities
1. Design and implement the advocacy strategy
The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand implements the engagement elements of the advocacy strategy for the Thailand/Shrimp hotspot intervention. The Manager Campaign Engagement understands the trends and the social and political factors that influence the hotspot intervention. The position is responsible for turning stakeholder and public engagement opportunities into action. The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand engages with relevant companies and other actors that can make a change in the Thailand/Shrimp hotspot possible. This includes partners that assist Fairfood in realising its advocacy interventions. The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand works closely with the Manager Campaign Communications Thailand and the Manager Campaign Research Thailand and acts as a Campaign Engagement advisor to the team.

2. Developing engagement instruments and tools
The Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand participates in the development of effective and innovative campaign engagement instruments and tools at Fairfood International. Therefore, the position takes part in regular workgroups including other managers campaign engagement in the organization. The position is also responsible for researching new and innovative campaign engagement instruments and tools.
Competences
- Able to design, implement and supervise campaign engagement tasks in a larger advocacy strategy
- Articulate and dedicated to achieving results in difficult negotiation dialogues
- Able to represent Fairfood in engagement conversations with various stakeholders
- Very approachable and has a coaching attitude when supervising volunteers
- Team player, with flexibility and ability to reach common agreement
- Able to multi-task and has proven ability to deliver results on time and within budget
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact well with corporate actors
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly, nationally and internationally
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite; Thai, Dutch, French and German are a pro.
Knowledge and experience
- University degree on Sustainability (preferably MSc), Development, Law or related discipline
- At least three years working in (corporate) engagement campaigns
- Proven experience in effective stakeholder (and especially corporate) engagement
- Good knowledge of sustainability issues in the food supply chain and potential solutions
- Knowledge of the food industry and/or agriculture
- Knowledge of development issues in Thailand
