King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is an international, graduate-level research University where research, focused on areas of importance to the future of Saudi Arabia, the region and the world, takes place in world-class facilities.
KAUST is located in a secure environment on the eastern shore of the Red Sea, 80 kilometers north of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, with all the facilities expected of a typical city including housing, schools, parks and playgrounds, medical facilities and recreation amenities including a golf course, beach with watersports center, yacht club, and marina.
The expansion of the Internal Audit Department has resulted in a vacancy at an Associate IT Auditor level, working closely with the IT Internal Audit Manager and taking responsibility for planning, performing and reporting high quality IT audits as well as assisting in integrated operational / IT audits. The successful candidate will have a strong audit background, good IT technical competencies, excellent communication skills and a confident approach when dealing with staff at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Audit planning, performance and reporting in accordance with the annual IA plan.
  • Ensure audit fieldwork and reports meet agreed timescales and quality requirements.
  • Deploy appropriate audit techniques and software applications including statistical sampling and computer assisted audit techniques.
  • Provide assistance in determining the status of audit report observations, as requested by Internal Audit Management.
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders across the University, promoting internal control.
  • Maintain professional proficiency through formal training and use of KAUST internal, self-improvement offerings. 
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in accounting, auditing, computer science, finance, or other business related field.
  • Proven, wide-ranging experience in Internal Audit, ideally with a Big 4 background.
  • Professional audit qualification(s) preferred, for example CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIA.
  • Strong understanding of IT general controls concepts, Windows / UNIX operating systems, Oracle and SQL databases.
  • Exposure to IT Security and prior experience in data extraction/analysis tools (IDEA/ACL).
  • Solid Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning concepts and structure is preferable with particular emphasis on SAP.
  • An enquiring mind with the ability to analyze and evaluate and to reach informed and justifiable conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
