Manager Campaign Research Thailand
Full-time (40 hours)
Purpose of the position
Strategically, Fairfood International uses its advocacy interventions to encourage sustainable solutions through transparency, innovation and change in policies and practices from Food & Beverage companies. The Manager Campaign Research Thailand works closely with the Senior Manager Asia, Middle East, Europe & North Africa (AMEENA) and the other team members to implement Fairfood International’s global advocacy strategy with regards to the sustainability of the shrimp supply chains originating in Thailand.
Department
The Advocacy department is Fairfood’s programs unit. The department is composed of multidisciplinary teams working on Fairfood’s advocacy interventions focused on various regions (and countries) of the world (also referred to as “Hotspots”). These multidisciplinary teams are based locally and internationally, and are supervised by Senior Managers Advocacy with regional portfolios. The Manager Campaign Research Thailand is a member of the Thailand/Shrimp hotspot and reports to the Senior Manager Advocacy AMEENA.
Responsibilities
1. Conducting research on the Thailand/shrimp hotspot
The Manager Campaign Research Thailand conducts campaign research on the sustainability of the shrimp supply chains originating in Thailand. The position guides the research efforts in collaboration with partners and contractors. The Manager Campaign Research Thailand collects, analyses and shares the information necessary for the implementation of Fairfood’s advocacy strategy towards addressing the sustainability issues identified. The Manager Campaign Research Thailand works closely with the Manager Campaign Communications Thailand and the Manager Campaign Engagement Thailand and acts as a Campaign Research advisor to the team.
2. Contribute to identifying the impact of Fairfood’s intervention
The Manager Campaign Research Thailand researches and reports the impact of Fairfood’s advocacy strategy related to the Thailand/shrimp hotspot. The position ensures that baseline information is collected, progress is monitored and recorded and an end evaluation is carried out. The Manager Campaign Research AMEENA coordinates any external contractors hired to assist with the research activities pertaining to the Thailand/Shrimp hotspot.
3. Developing research instruments and tools
The Manager Campaign Research Thailand participates in the development of effective and innovative campaign research instruments and tools at Fairfood International. Therefore, the position takes part in regular workgroups together with other researchers in the organization.
Competences
- Able to design, implement and supervise a campaign research project
- Very approachable and has a coaching attitude when supervising volunteers
- Team player with flexibility and ability to reach common agreement
- Able to multi-task and has proven ability to deliver results on time and within budget
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating and reporting abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly, nationally and internationally
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite; Thai, Dutch, French and German are a pro.

Knowledge and experience
- University degree on Sustainability (preferably MSc) or related discipline
- At least three years work experience implementing and designing campaign research projects
- Proven experience in carrying out campaign research on sustainability issues
- Knowledge of the food supply chain and the related sustainability solutions
- Developed understanding of campaign research methodologies and instruments
- Familiarity with impact assessment methodologies is desirable
- Knowledge of development issues in Thailand
