Village Focus Program Intern


Village Focus International - Cambodia is seeking an intern to assist its small team with the implementation and development of projects and the organisation of its annual fundraising event the 'Angkor Wat Bike4Kids!'
VFI have been active in Cambodia since 2003 identifying local development leaders and training and supporting them with focus on their priorities and vision. Much of our current work focuses on our core Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children program (PEWC), and this is a good opportunity for a committed individual to play an important and diverse supporting role in the delivery of projects and events at an established INGO.
Duties:
• Provide support to VFI Cambodia's program team and implementing partners • Assist the Events team with organising the Angkor Wat Bike4Kids! fundraiser. • Possible tasks include: proposal writing, potential funding research, document editing, networking, admin, logistics tasks (bike events), teaching, communications and social media work.
Experience / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree minimum in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Business or other relevant topic • 3-6 months experience in community development work, preferably with a focus on women and/or children.
Required competencies:
• Well-organised, with excellent MS Excel skills and the ability to produce accurate budgets • Strong proactive approach and ability to work independently • Demonstrable talent for creative problem solving • Flexible and 'can-do' approach when faced with varied workload • Committed to and passionate about development work
