CONTRACT: Permanent, Full time
SALARY: £54,372 - 57,882 p.a.
LOCATION: Central London or Johannesburg

An exciting senior level position which plays a key role in delivering lasting solutions to the problems of global poverty has become available within ActionAid International. We're seeking an experienced Head of International Communications who wants to be part of delivering a bold strategy to provide sustained improvements to the poorest and most excluded people in the world.
As Head of International Communications you will be part of the management team of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate tasked with delivering on the income and visibility aspects of ActionAid’s ambitious strategy. This will involve developing and implementing business plans, coordinating resources and monitoring performance. Leading a large team you will be responsible for strategic communications activities that develop a cohesive ActionAid identity, profile and fundraising success across platforms, especially media and digital.  You will build strong internal relationships to ensure communications are integrated and deliver maximum impact as well as lead in the development of a culture of ambition, openness and innovation. We will look to you to inform thinking, improve processes and grow a dynamic team.
With extensive experience of developing long term international communications strategies, implementing plans and controlling budgets, you will have the ability to provide clear vision and manage different complex stakeholder groups. An outstanding people manager you will have a track record of nurturing and leading highly successful teams as well as driving creative standards. Skilled at prioritising projects and influencing others you will have a track record of delivering high quality output and proven expertise in developing and advising on communications strategy, planning, structures and processes.
