ActionAid Inspirator

ActionAid is looking for experienced Spanish speaking development practitioners, who are committed to fight injustice together with our many partner organisations in the global South.
Inspirators are cross national placement of development practitioners with significant hands on experience. At the moment, we are particularly interested in Spanish speaking candidates with qualifications in Monitoring & Evaluation, Radio and Social Communication and Agricultural Disaster Risk Reduction. However, all candidates with relevant experience in the field of development and governance are welcome to register.
We are looking for dedicated individuals, who would like to spend 3 to 9 months working in collaboration with one of our many partner organisations in Central America, particularly Nicaragua and Guatemala, who are currently planning Inspirator placements.
Inspirators are volunteer placements. However, you will have your travel and accommodation expenses covered. You will also receive a living allowance to cover your costs of living while abroad and 350€ to cover some of the expenses you may have in your home country while abroad. Please, be aware that all allowances and subsidies are subject to local tax.
Why become an Inspirator?
Inspirator placements offer an excellent opportunity to learn and share experiences across national borders and cultures with likeminded organisations. It is a chance to gain international work experience, and perhaps even more importantly, the opportunity to grow as a human being.
Please visit our website http://www.actionaid.dk/sw141416.asp for more information about inspirators, including videos showcasing examples of Inspirator work and overall requirements and information about which countries we accept Inspirators from.
Required qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of paid or voluntary work experience
  • At least 3 years of paid or voluntary work experience within a specific subject area
  • Paid or voluntary work experience from developing countries
  • Voluntary work experience required
  • Strong sense of solidarity and volunteerism
  • Facilitation and motivational skills
  • Personal drive and motivation to become an Inspirator
How to apply:
Inspirators are selected from a database called the Inspirator Roster. Therefore, the first step to become an Inspirator is to register in the Roster. However, it is important to point out that registration in the Roster does not necessarily lead to a placement.
If you want to apply, please register in the Inspirator Roster online at http://ims.actionaid.dk.
If you are interested in placement in Nicaragua or Guatemala within the field of Radio and Social Communication, Monitoring & Evaluation or Agricultural Disaster Risk Reduction, please send your CV toinspirator@ms.dk by Thursday, June 13th, as the initial first step for indication of interest.
As People4Change is a cross-national programme, which aims at building tolerance, respect and expertise across cultures and borders, placement in a country where you are a permanent resident is not possible. If you are a permanent resident of Nicaragua or Guatemala and find this opportunity interesting, please note that similar Inspirator placements in other countries are regularly available through the Inspirator Roster.
