The project consists of open pit and underground mines, concentrator and supporting infrastructure to produce high-grade copper and gold concentrates.
As the Production Engineer –Open Pit Operations reporting in to Superintendent – Mining Operations for Open Pit, you will be responsible for supporting the operations in evaluation, improvement, and implementation of operational processes. This critical role requires sound understanding and application of mine operations, planning, construction, and supervisory skills to integrate key drivers into execution. Strong civil engineering background with significant exposure to practical issues within construction activities and with contractors. This role’s primary accountability is to complete tasks and projects for the production department that will maintain or improve construction productivity and cost efficiency and assist in the safe achievement of mine construction targets and provide ongoing technical support to construction activities. Coaching and developing Mongolian nationals is also the key performance measure for this role.
To be considered for this key position you will possess tertiary qualification in civil engineering with more than 5 years’ experience in Open Pit mining.
Your experience working in developing countries and building strong relationships with a team consisting of diverse cultural backgrounds will set you apart from others. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and a zero harm approach.
This position operates on a 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off fly-in, fly-out roster to site from your home base.
