Description:

The Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR), a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank in Washington D.C., seeks a full-time Research and Program Assistant or Coordinator to provide administrative and research assistance to the organization's research department and Executive Director.
Administrative duties will include scheduling meetings, filing, editing documents, arranging travel, and processing purchasing and reimbursement forms. Research assistance will include reviewing literature, fact-checking reports, filling information requests from the public, coordinating event logistics, and contributing to writing fact sheets, reports, and other resources. 
Current IWPR projects include research on women of color faculty in science, technology, engineering, and math; access to high quality job training and postsecondary education for low-income women; the status of women and Girls in the United States; improving job quality through paid leave laws; and women's economic security in retirement.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in a related field with three years of experience, strong writing skills, administrative experience, and interest in policy issues affecting women.
  • Quantitative skills, applied research experience, and experience with statistical software and/or large public-use data sets a plus.
  • Position will be filled at the Assistant or Coordinator level depending on experience.
